: The Papanicolaou (Pap) smear used worldwide for cervical screening was developed by Dr George in 1940s. Pap is a simple, safe and effective test to detect cancer at an early stage. To study the spectrum of lesions based on Bethesda System(TBS) 2014 determine frequency premalignant malignant lesions. present prospective included 200 cases above 20 years age. cytological interpretation smears were made according TBS 2014. When there difficulty differentiating HSIL from other p16 immunostaining done evaluated criteria proposed Wentzensen et al. Chi – square see association between different attributes. Statistical analysis performed using SPSS version 22. P value <0.05 considered significant. most common lesion NILM with 175 (87.5%) followed 7(3.5%) SCC, 4(2%) HSIL, 2(1%) each ASCUS, AGC-NOS, LSIL 1(0.5%) case ASC-H. Among 200, unsatisfactory evaluation. subjects not uniformly distributed (P <0.001). marker 6(3%) doubtful among which 2(33.33%) positive. Cervical useful technique inflammatory, cervix helps clinician plan further management.
